Cinnamon Coffee Cake
Brunch

 

1 - 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 pound (1 stick) butter
4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cup milk
 

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
cinnamon to taste
1/4 pound (1 stick) butter
 

Cream sugar, eggs and 1/4 pound butter. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Gradually add sifted ingredients and milk to batter, stirring constantly. Spread in a 9x13-inch baking pan.
 
Mix the brown sugar with a generous amount of cinnamon and spread onto the cake batter; dot closely with butter.
 
Bake 25-30 minutes at 350. Serve warm.
