Elephant Stew

From a church cookbook that my mom used to have, this always gave me a chuckle.

1 medium-sized elephant
brown gravy
2 rabbits (optional)
salt & pepper to taste

Cut the elephant into small, bite-size pieces.  Add enough brown gravy to cover.  Cook over low fire about two days at 365.  This will serve about 3,800 people.  If more are expected, two rabbits may be added but do this only in an emergency (many people do not like hare in their stew).
